About Rachel

Hi, my name is Rachel Vest. I'm a 15 year old High School Sophomore from Truth or Consequences, New Mexico... and People To People Student Ambassador!
I've attended Truth or Consequences Schools since Kindergarten and have maintained an A/B average since grade school. I also enjoy a love of sports and played AYSO Soccer from 2nd grade until 5th grade, City League basketball from 2nd grade to 6th grade and City League baseball in 6th grade.
I was a member of my school's Student Council in 4th and 5th grades and upon starting Middle School, began taking Advanced Math, Language Arts and Science. I also participated in the Science Olympiad in 6th Grade and began playing school sports, namely volleyball and basketball, in the 7th grade.
I love math and science and plan to take as much as possible during my high school career. I'm part of my school's Biology Club and will participate in Science Olympiad again this year. I would like to join the Navy and have aspirations to attend the U.S. Naval Academy after high school.
Aside from working on the weekends and studying hard in school, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, going to movies, listening to music and just having fun.
After attending People To People's Australian Adventure this summer, I was automatically invited to sign up for the next trip to Europe. For more information on the People To People organization, visit the How? page.
The cost of the trip -which will total $7249 when all is said and
done- is pretty difficult for a single mom to afford. But with People To
People's fundraiser suggestions, our own ideas from last year, contributions from
friends, family and local
businesses, we hope to reach our goal. See the Help! page to learn about what we're doing to raise my tuition and how you can help.
Visiting Paris is one of the things I'm most looking forward to on next summer's European Heritage trip. Check out the Where? page for more information on my itinerary.
